Call for Development Research & Communication Fellowships
ROSHNI- Centre of Women-Collectives-led Social Action (CWCSA) is looking to hire two fellows to join our research and communications team. This is an opportunity for bright, enthusiastic and skilled young people to gain hands-on work experience, build on their skills and gain insights into rural development processes.
Areas of work for Fellows:

Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram – For campaigns and dissemination of ROSHNI’s toolkits)
-
Documenting Stories of change (Assisting the communications team in writing and editing short stories and collating newsletter)
-
Primary and secondary research on ROSHNI’s ambit of work that explores how women collectives can be drivers of community centric development in the following domains:
-
Nutrition Programmes run on a community cash grant model to address FNHW outcomes
-
Engaging men & boys for gender transformative actions in the community
-
Disaster risk reduction & resilience
-
Maternal depression
Details:
-
This is a year-long paid fellowship from February 2020 - January, 2021 with a stipend of Rs. 20,000/- per month
-
2 positions are available
-
The fellow will be on probation for the first six months. Contract will be extended for the rest year on based on the quality of work produced
-
The fellows will be under the supervision of ROSHNI’s Team
-
On successful completion, the fellow will be given a letter of recommendation from the centre
Required interests, skills & abilities:
-
An interest in learning about maternal nutrition programmes, gender and women-collectives is a must
-
The ability to work independently, with remote supervision
-
Ability to multi-task
-
We are looking for people with a combination of writing, analytical, research and basic photography skills
-
Ability to summarise findings from academic research
-
Familiarity with social media tools like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
-
Willingness to constantly improve and find innovative ways of writing about government programmes
-
Transparency and good work ethic
-
Post-graduate degree or PG Diploma holders in sociology/ English/ history/ economics/ development studies/ international development/ journalism/ public health/ public policy/ social entrepreneurship or similar disciplines are encouraged to apply

Preparing for the fellowship:
-
ROSHNI-CWCSA is currently working on a UNICEF project ‘Swabhimaan’ in Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Odisha where we are supporting the State Rural Livelihoods Missions. Read about the programme using resources from ROSHNI’s website– www.roshni-cwcsa.in Understanding the Swabhimaan programme is a must to work at ROSHNI.

Familiarise yourself with the tone & content (written/visual/research-based) generated by research institutes like Leveraging Nutrition for Agriculture in South Asia (LANSA), International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Jhpiego, and IndiaSpend.
