Presentation on lessons from Swabhimaan on enhancing community resilience and food security at UNICEF and the Nature Conservancy's webinar on Nature Based Solutions

Our team presented lessons on promoting the Nutri-Sensitive Integrated Farming Systems model via women's groups at a webinar on Nature Based Solutions and Disaster Risk Reduction, hosted by The Nature Conservancy and UNICEF.

This focussed on a system strengthening approach to enhancing resilience against food and nutrition security; integrating nutrition intreventions into a poverty alleviation programme, while simultaneously working with agriculture and school systems in Bihar to make them nutri sensitive.

We shared insights on working with the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society, JEEViKA , along with the Department of Argiculture Extension, and the Department of Education to enable holistic impact on the food system in the community. The presentation also looked at evidence on resilience during COVID-19 and how community-based women's groups were able to support nutrition and food security in the community during the COVID-19 lockdown.
