A six-day training workshop was concluded on 27 February at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, which saw the participation of resource persons from ROSHNI CWSCA along with UNICEF resource persons from 6 states. These included resource persons working with various departments including the Departments of Health, Women and Child Development, Social Welfare, and Rural Development. The training sought to train participants to become 'lead trainers' on using tools for mental health risk assessment, gender transformative approaches, and nutrition. Participants learned about pre-and post-partum mental health issues and about how they are linked with health, nutrition, and gender disadvantage Sessions focussed on building capacities to use integrated algorithms for maternal nutrition and peri-natal mental health used by health service providers and frontline workers. It also focussed on using participatory learning and action methods for action on mental health.
